Body found in Southington garage

Staff report

SOUTHINGTON — The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the discovery of a body found Tuesday morning in a garage in the 4400 block of Herner County Line Road NW.

Authorities have not yet identified the individual or determined the cause of death, pending an autopsy scheduled later this week.

Major Douglas Bobovnyik of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office reported that preliminary assessments suggest the body may have been in the garage for an extended period. Details about the individual’s identity, gender or circumstances surrounding the death remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.

No information has been released regarding how the body was discovered or whether the death is considered suspicious.

The sheriff’s office stated that further details will be released as they become available.

The discovery of the remains comes as the community previously held searches to find 82-year-old Robert C. Wolf, who went missing from Herner County Line Road on Feb. 21, 2025, though no connection between the cases has been suggested.

Wolf was last seen at his home, where his cellphone and vehicle were left behind. In March, more than 112 volunteers joined first responders to search more than 1,000 acres near state Routes 534 and 305 and Warren-Painesville Road.

Starting at $3.23/week.
