WHAT: Board of education meeting Jan. 13

PRESENT: Danielle Scherer, Mark Harper, Angela Campana, Jennifer Nicholas and Taylor Pease

The board:

• Named Scherer as board president and Campana as vice president.

• Approved appointments: Peace as legislative liaison to the Ohio School Board Association, Nicholas to student achievement, Harper to district facilities and safety, and Scherer as representative to the Trumbull Career and Technical Center board.

• Approved softball team trip April 17 to 21 for the softball tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

• Approved paying board members $80 per meeting for 18 meetings per year.

• Hired Theresa Lambert as bus driver and Roger Rovini as assistant mechanic.

• Accepted the retirement of bus driver Brenda Starr.

• Approved purchase of school bus bids by Ohio Schools Council.

• Set meetings for 6 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month at the high school media center.
