Not guilty plea entered in rape case

NEWTON FALLS — A Medina woman arrested by the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office appeared in a Newton Falls municipal courtroom after being charged with the rape of a 20-year-old woman.

Judge Philip M. Vigorito set a $50,000 bond Monday for Blake Fisher, 19, after she pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape, third-degree strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, according to court records.

The judge ordered Fisher to have no contact with the victim and prohibited her from possession of intoxicants. Fisher has another court appearance July 9.

She’s being held in the Trumbull County jail since her arrest by deputies on Thursday at a residence in the 2100 block of Woodland Trace in Austintown.

Court documents state the charges of strangulation and domestic violence are said to have happened on June 8, while records say the charges of rape occurred on June 19 and 20.

According to a sheriff’s office report, deputies spoke with the victim the day before Fisher’s arrest. The report states the victim had minor injuries.

No further information was provided regarding the offenses for which Fisher is charged.

Starting at $3.23/week.
