Trent Addicott, left, appears in Common Pleas Court beside attorney Jeff Goodman for a brief arraignment Thursday on 11 counts related to child and animal sex abuse charges.
Trent Addicott, 27, of Fairview Avenue SE, appeared with his defense attorney, Jeff Goodman, before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice for the brief hearing and pleaded not guilty to 11 counts.
The charges include four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor; two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor; and five counts of sexual conduct with an animal.
Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman said the first two counts revolve around homemade child porn material involving a toddler-aged relative of the defendant.
Four counts relate to internet child porn material and the remaining five counts pertain to videos of Addicott engaged in sexual conduct with a family dog.
His $500,000 bond remains, but Wildman asked for it to be raised to $750,000, citing his belief, based on the nature of the charges, that Addicott poses a “substantial risk to the health and safety of the community.”
If bond is posted, the defendant was ordered to have no contact with children below the age of 18 and he would be placed on house arrest.
Addicott was arrested in May after Howland police and TAG detectives from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on Addicott’s Fairview Avenue residence. Prosecutors say the Cuyahoga-based Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was involved in the investigation.
Initially, Addicott was booked on second-degree charges of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. However, additional charges were shown on an indictment issued Wednesday by a Trumbull County Grand Jury.
