Charge filed in March murder
Police name Jamarr Jenkins, 20, as gunman
WARREN — City police have charged a Warren man in the murder of a 43-year-old woman who was shot inside her apartment complex March 27.
Jamarr Jenkins, 20, of Kenmore Avenue SE, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Ruby Sanchez. She was shot about 1 a.m. inside her Hampshire House apartment on Fifth Street SW.
A police report states officers responded to the apartment complex after a tenant reported a bullet came through her window after several shots were fired.
Dispatchers later were informed by Trumbull Regional Medical Center of a gunshot wound victim having arrived there. She was later identified by police as Sanchez, who died at the hospital.
The charges come shortly after Jenkins was arrested July 28 on a warrant related to child endangering charges involving a 2-year-old boy, who was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand March 26. Kevonna Marion, 23, of Martin Street, also faces a charge of child endangering.
She was arrested at the hospital the night of the late March shooting.
