VIENNA — Two drivers are dead after a car crash on state Route 193 in Vienna on Thursday morning.

Cassidy J. Walsh, 26, of Warren, and Geraldine Newby, 74, also of Warren, died as a result of the accident.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred about 11 a.m. on state Route 193, just south of state Route 82.

Reports from the highway patrol state that Walsh, who was driving her 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer north on Route 193, drove left of center and struck head-on Newby’s 2019 Buick Encore, which was traveling south.

The crash area of Route 193 was closed for a time for the investigation, and the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office was called.

Fire departments from Vienna and Liberty, as well as the Vienna Police Department and Ohio Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene.

The crash is under investigation. The coroner and patrol reconstruction unit are assisting with the investigation.
