MOVIE NIGHT: Leavittsburg Baptist Church, 4150 Kincaid East Road NW, Warren, will show the movie “Left Behind” starring Kirk Cameron at 5 p.m. Sunday. The movie is free to the public.
APPRECIATION SUNDAY: Mount Olive Baptist Church, Martin Luther King Boulevard Warren, will host Appreciation Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest speaker the Rev. George Johnson of Agape Assembly Church.

WOMENS WEEKEND: Trinity Baptist Church, 235 Highland Ave. SW, Warren will host Women’s Weekend May 20 and 21. The theme is “Christian Women Under Construction” with a prayer brunch 9:30 a.m. to noon May 20 and Women in White at 3 p.m. May 21. Guest speaker is Sister Phyllis Bolling of Valley Baptist Church of Farrell. Pa. Host pastor is the Rev. Darryl Rodgers Sr.
JOURNEY TO HOLY LAND: Vienna United Methodist Church Pastor Sam Mohn will give a free presentation on his recent Holy Land journey at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mohn traveled to the Holy Land with a group of clergy from Ohio.
NO GREATER LOVE: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will show the film “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” at 1 p.m. Sunday at the parish center. The film is presented by Knights of Columbus Msgr. Mears Council No. 3930.
DAY OF PRAYER: The National Day of Prayer prayer breakfast and program will be Thursday at the Hippodrome, 150 High St., Warren. MEN OF FAITH: The Trumbull County Men of Faith will meet at 9 a.m. May 6 at Aulizio’s Banquet Center, 4359 Youngstown Road SE, Warren. Each month is a different guest speaker or program. WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: The Diocese of Youngstown will host a wedding anniversary celebration at 2 p.m. May 7 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown to honor 25, 40, 50 and more year wedding anniversaries. The event will include Mass with Bishop David Bonnar. Couples planning to attend must make a reservation in advance by contacting the parish’s office since there is limited space. One or both spouses must be Catholic. A second wedding anniversary celebration will be Oct. 15 at the Basilica of St. John in Canton.
PRAYER SERVICE: A prayer service will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Ambrose Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, to honor the legacy of St. Michael Church in Windham. Bishop David Bonnar will lead the service, which will include placement of the St. Michael statue at St. Ambrose.
The service will be in thanksgiving for St. Michael Church, which was merged with St. Ambrose Parish in 2021 and closed in 2022, following consultation with parishioners and the diocese’s priest council. The St. Michael statue will be moved into the nave of St. Ambrose Church.
FIRST SUNDAY SPEAKER: First Presbyterian Church will have guest speaker Dr. Anthony Montevideo at 11:15 a.m. May 7. Montevideo is a case manager with Niles Treatment Services, Pinnacle Treatment Services. The event is an addiction awareness program. He received his doctorate of dental surgery in 1994 from The Ohio State University. He was the dental director at Trumbull County Jail and at CCA Prison from 1999 to 2003. Montevideo was outreach director and assistant men’s director at the Warren Family Mission from 2010 to 2012 and Outreach Director, Western Michigan Teen Challenge, 2013 to 2015. He will educate those with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and assist in giving individual’s hope on their recovery journey and address the issue of “stigma” involved with those individuals diagnosed.
100 YEARS: Mizpah Chapter No 66, OES, PHA, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliaton, Warren, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a recognition banquet at 4 p.m. May 7 at DiVieste’s Banquet Centre, 754 N. HONOR MOTHERS: Mothers will be honored with prayer services in the chapels of the Youngstown Diocesan Cemeteries at 10 a.m. on May 13. Families will receive a flower that will be blessed and laid in front of the Blessed Mother Statue in remembrance of mothers. ANNIVERSARY SET: First Baptist Church, 1300 Cedar St. SW, Braceville will celebrate its 100th anniversary Aug. 26 and 27 with a celebratory banquet at Aulizio’s Banquet Center Aug. 26. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the church on Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m., or from any First Baptist member.
