23-year-old facing prison after hit-skip

WARREN — A Southington man pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas court to charges connected to a Sept. 20, 2021, traffic crash that injured a motorcyclist.

Corey D. Hoffman, 23, 5290 Herner City Line Road, appeared Wednesday before Judge W. Wyatt McKay, who convicted Hoffman on charges of aggravated vehicular assault and failure to stop after an accident.

He faces a possible 60-month prison sentence and possible suspension of his driver’s license of two to 10 years.

Hoffman, who will be sentenced after he undergoes a background investigation, remains free on $12,500 bond.

Prosecutors said Hoffman was driving near his home and struck a motorcycle operated by Tammy Kingery, who suffered injuries. Hoffman left the scene, but later told authorities what happened.

Kingery was in court for the plea hearing, but did not speak.
