Trumbull County EMA rolls out alert system

WARREN — Initially expected to be ready in September, the Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency has launched its countywide weather alert system in partnership with Wireless Emergency Notification System.

The rollout took place 10 days ago, according to Trumbull County EMA Director John Hickey.

The app gives users the ability to pick which city, village or township they’ll receive their severe weather alerts from via text, landline or email.

This feature is part one of the alert plan. The next part will allow community members to put out alerts, such as road closures and evacuations. That part is planned to be rolled out later this year.

Starting at $3.23/week.
