Man faces child endangering charges

Police say he was found overdosed with kids in car

WARREN — An Oak Street SW man is charged with two counts of child endangering after police officers were dispatched to Oriole Place and Bock Court SW about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Police investigated a man passed out behind the wheel with two small children in a 2002 Mitsubishi.

Antuan M. Parker, 42, is to be arraigned in Warren Municipal Court. A hearing set for Thursday was canceled because a report showed nursing staff at St. Joseph Warren Hospital said Parker had continued to overdose and was being transferred to intensive care on a Narcan drip.

According to a police report, an officer administered one dose of Narcan to the man. The two children in the back seat were girls ages 3 and 4, the report states.

The man told police the children’s mother was at work at a daycare. The mother came to the scene to take the girls, the report states.

The man regained consciousness, the report states, and told officers he had been smoking some marijuana and he had snorted “some powder.”

Officers had located a bindle on the man’s lap while he was in the car, and hospital workers later turned in to police a bag of suspected crack that was found in the man’s sock, the report states. Nurses told police the man may have had more narcotics hidden on him because he had overdosed Wednesday evening.
