Toronto 10, Mineral Ridge 2 -- Ethan Vetrosky had a pair of hits to lead the Mineral Ridge offense. Jackson Geddes added a solo homerun for the Rams.
Cardinal Mooney 18, Triway 6 -- Taco Veracco had two hits and four RBI's for Mooney. One of those hits was a triple. Kaden Reese and Ben Oddis added two hits and an RBI each. Luke Kollar also got in on the action, driving in two runs with a hit.
Cardinal Mooney 9, Norwayne 1 -- Taco Verocco blasted a three run home run to lead Mooney. Johnny Brenner tripled and doubled as part of a two hit, two RBI and two run outing for the Cardinals. Todd Jones was dominant on the mound, striking out five in 3.2 innings of work.
Champion 14, Niles 10 -- Zack Morris, Konner Reed, Seth Dommes and Marky Nolan had three hits each for Niles in a high scoring affair. Reed drove in four runs while Dommes drove in two and Nolan and Morris had an RBI each. Brixton Gilmour and Joseph Lehman had two hits each for Niles. Lehman drove home two runs and Gilmour had one RBI. Brian Parsons added a hit and two RBI's for the Dragons.
Springfield 3, Hubbard 1 -- Jordan Morgan (1-0) had a single and an RBI to lead Springfield, who led 3-1 in the third inning and relied on pitching to get the win. Jackson Minetti pitched the final four innings for the Tigers. For Hubbard, Maddox Pieton struck out 10 batters. Logan Balla and Lucas Alexander recorded two hits each for the Eagles.
SOFTBALL
Austintown Fitch 10, West Jefferson 9 -- Fitch (3-0) remained unbeaten after rallying with a six-run sixth inning, after trailing 9-2 through four innings. Kylie Folkwein led Fitch with a pair of homers and five RBIs. Kaliana Ray tripled and drove in two runs and Abby Toth and Morgan Roby had a pair of hits each for the Falcons. Emma Trein had a home run and three RBI's to lead West Jefferson.
Austintown Fitch 14, Miami East 0 -- The Falcons (4-0) scored 14 runs off 20 hits to shut out Miami East in the second game of their doubleheader. Nine different players recorded hits, led by four singles from Kaliana Ray. Kylie Folkwein scattered a pair of doubles, as Seneca Coates had two hits and a pair of RBIs. Abby Toth also batted in six runs off three singles and a double, while Mila Hamley earned the win in the circle with 12 strikeouts.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Akron Firestone 2, Howland 0 -- Howland put up a strong effort but fell 27-25 and 25-10. Evan Neely had 11 assists and Wesley Fee added nine kills.
Springfield 2, Howland 1 -- Howland won the first set 25-23 before dropping the last two. Wesley Fee had 14 kills, six digs and two blocks for the Tigers. Carter Jones added seven service points and an ace.
Howland 2, Akron Hoban 0 -- Howland (5-3) got on the win column in their final match of the tournament with a sweep of Hoban. Carter Jones had 11 points with four aces. Wesley Fee added six kills and six digs and Carter Jones had six digs and five kills. Phillip Rullo assisted on 10 points.
