WARREN — A woman suffered minor injuries after her former partner beat her on Friday, according to a police report.

Mariah Lowery, 19, said the father of her child, Marquis Porterfield, 19, of Warren, forced his way into her home at 628 Federal St. NW in Warren around 4:15 p.m. before punching her and hitting her with a broom, the police report states.

Lowery and her friend, Anastasia Magee, 18, of Niles, were able to push Porterfield outside but he smashed a kitchen window, kicked open a screen door and damaged a wall with a piece of wood before leaving, the police report states.

Porterfield, 1907 Sweetbriar, is facing charges of felonious assault and burglary, according to Warren Municipal Court records. No court date has been set.
