Staff report The historic Masonic Lodge building at 22 W. Church St. in downtown Niles will be revitalized with assistance from a $750,000 JobsOhio Vibrant Communities Grant secured by Lake to River. The $4.6 million redevelopment will transform the underutilized structure into the new headquarters for Cadence Care Network, a nonprofit organization providing behavioral health services for children and families. The program is expected to allow Sheriff Mike Wilson to begin replacing some vehicles that have nearly 300,000 miles on them. Champion board receives portrait of Gradishar

CHAMPION — The Champion Local School District has been presented a picture of one of its most famous graduates. Resident Rex Fee, a former township trustee, this week unveiled a picture of Randy Gradishar, a 1970 graduate of Champion High School who excelled in football both in high school and in the NFL. Fee said he was at the high school this spring at a track event with his grandson and saw a picture of Gradishar in one of the trophy cases by the high school gymnasium. Appeals court again refuses Danny Lee Hill’s challenge to death sentence

WARREN — The Warren-based 11th District Court of Appeals issued two rulings this week that again refused to allow death row inmate Danny Lee Hill of Warren to challenge his death sentence on the grounds that he is intellectually disabled. In separate decisions, the court struck down Hill’s “motion to certify a conflict” and his “application for reconsideration” of the 11th District’s Aug. 17 decision that affirmed that Hill is not intellectually disabled, according to a Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office news release.
