WARREN — Chaos unfolded in Trumbull County common pleas court as a defendant on trial for murder was attacked by a family member of the victim in the case.

The prosecution was only a few seconds into showing the body cam footage in the aftermath of the fatal shooting when a man dressed in all black leaped over the barrier separating the defendant from the crowd and began attacking 18-year-old Gavin Roberts.

The trial is ongoing after beginning on Monday.

Gavin Roberts, of Kenilworth Avenue SE, is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and burglary in connection with the Nov. 19, 2022, shooting death of Brice Hilton of Farrell, Pa., at Colonial Street and South Feederle Drive SE.
