Santa riding into Johnson event

HERE COMES SANTA: Santa Claus will be at the Johnson Community Center, 800 Gillmer Road, Leavittsburg, at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Santa will arrive by fire truck and hand out treats to children. Celebrate Hanukkah with JCC

MENORAH DISPLAYED FOR HANUKKAH: The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation has placed a 9-foot menorah on display in front of the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, for Hanukkah, which is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights.” It is celebrated with a nightly Hanukkah lighting, special prayers and fried foods. Wreaths Across America events set

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: The cities of Niles and Girard will both be hosting Wreaths Across America events at noon Saturday. The Niles event will be held at Niles City Cemetery off Niles Vienna Road, and the Girard event at Girard City Cemetery off Route 422. Participants at both events will place wreaths on veterans’ graves while paying tribute to fallen veterans. Niles has held the event for the past four years, with 1,600 wreaths placed in 2024.
