Seeing Eye: Mount Carmel Festival begins Saturday

MOUNT CARMEL FESTIVAL: The Girard Mount Carmel Festival will take place July 11 to 16 at the Italian Fraternal Home Club, 33 W. Wilson Ave. The festival includes food, carnival games, amusement rides, a 50-50 raffle, bingo and nightly entertainment. Musical entertainment is 8 to 11 p.m. July 11 to 15. COLUMBUS — More than 480 graduating seniors from across the state recently received their high school diplomas as members of Ohio Connections Academy’s Class of 2026. Learn about farming at the fair

The Trumbull County Fair is upon us, running July 14-19. Growing up, the county fair was a big part of summer life on the farm for me. As Gary and I raised our daughters, it was the same for our whole family. As 4-H club members, me an adviser and Gary the manager of the annual cheese auction, the fair was a much-anticipated event. Even though the girls have long since graduated out of 4-H and Gary and I no longer volunteer through 4-H, we anticipate visiting the fair every year.
