RECYCLING GUIDELINES AT TCTC: As the community prepares for the upcoming closure of Educational Highway, scheduled to begin Tuesday for a bridge project on the road and continue for approximately 75 days, and the resulting traffic impacts around the Trumbull Career and Technical Center's campus. All recycling activities at TCTC must take place after 3 p.m. daily for the duration of the road closure. There is a recycling area for the public in the northern parking lot of TCTC off Educational Highway.
UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TOUR: To celebrate International Underground Railroad History Month in September, the Trumbull County Historical Society is excited to announce the dates of its bi-annual Underground Railroad Bus Tour of Trumbull County. On Saturday and again Sept. 12, the public is invited at 10 a.m. for detailed tours around the county that take people to many of the known stops on the Underground Railroad in Trumbull County. The tours will teach about the bravery of Freedom Seekers who sought the aid of local abolitionists. The tours also include a special behind-the-scenes tour of one of the historic properties. The tour is around two hours long. Spots are limited, and registration is required. The tour begins at the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, 321 Mahoning Ave NW in Warren. Tickets are $50 per person.
