McKinley Library to present Presidents’ Day Celebration

PRESIDENTS’ DAY CELEBRATION: McKinley Memorial Library will present a Presidents’ Day Celebration 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. At 2:30 p.m., a speaker from the Niles Historical Society will discuss what Niles was like in the 1840s, when the McKinley Family lived there. The Birthplace Home will be open for self-guided tours.

MCKINLEY PORTRAYAL: Former President William McKinley, portrayed by Mike Wilson, director of SCOPE Senior Services of Northeast Ohio, will speak at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Bristol Public Library.

Wilson has portrayed the 25th President for 33 years and has performed as the former president all over the nation. He was even filmed for C-SPAN giving a front porch speech as part of their series on the presidents.

The program is in conjunction with the new Bristol Senior Center. Seats are limited and registration is required. For information and to register, contact the circulation desk at 330-889-3651.

ADOPTION EVENT: A Be Mine Adoption event for pets will be 2 to 6 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Eastwood Mall center concourse in Niles. The Animal Welfare League will be bringing adoptable pets for people to meet and potentially adopt for Valentine’s Day.

VALENTINE’S DAY BINGO: A Valentine’s Day-themed bingo will be 2 to 4 p.m. today at St. Joe’s at the Mall. The free event features free bingo with prizes from Eastwood Mall stores.
