Preteens are invited to bling books

BOOK BEDAZZLING: The Brookfield Library Branch will offer Book Bedazzling 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday for ages 9 to 12. Participants can custom decorate their favorite book cover with rhinestones. Participants are to bring their own books to bling. The event is free, but registration is required at 330-448-8134.

MUSIC CLUB TO MEET: The Warren Music Club, a member of the Ohio and National Federation of Music Clubs, will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Karl and Jeannine Morris of Warren. The program is open to the public. NFMC Founders Day and Celebrate Strings will be observed. Financial contributions to the NFMC Founders Day Fund to support the NFMC Young Artist Competition were made by club members.

Pat Preusser, program chair, will introduce Erick Ramos, violinist, and Allison Hillier, collaborative accompanist. Erick is a senior at Dana School of Music on the campus of Youngstown State University. Hillier received her master’s degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. History of the local club, OFMC and NFMC will be given by club members..

Karl Morris will present a Course of Study to Celebrate Strings. A business meeting will be conducted by president, Jeannine Morris. Attendees will sing “A Gift of Song” by Lana Bailey, accompanied by Elaine Maki.

COIN CLUB TO MEET: The Wheatland Mercer County Coin Club will have its monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of every month. The first meeting of 2026 is Wednesday at the Wheatland Community Center, 71 Broadway Ave., Hermitage.

All are invited and there is light food and beverage. Monthly meetings include a special raffle, main raffle, coin auction, door prizes, birthday prizes and much more.

The special raffle this month is a 1954 proof set that is unopened and in the original government packaging.

Every member will be awarded one free coin and may participate in the raffles.
