High school journalism contest announced
Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania high school students and their advisers can win prizes of up to $200 in the second annual Youngstown Press Club Scholastic Journalism Awards contest.
Entries are being sought from students at 82 high schools in Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Mercer and Lawrence counties.
The entry deadline is March 18.
The competition categories are scholastic journalist of the year; adviser of the year; news story; feature story; sports news and features; editorial, colum n or opinion; reviews of products, movies, plays or books; photography; video package; print or web layout and design; and news publication, broadcast production or website.

By recognizing their excellent work, the Youngstown Press Club seeks to encourage high school students to start on the path to a journalism career.
