Seaborn among top elementary schools in Ohio
MINERAL RIDGE — Weathersfield Local School District proudly announces that Seaborn Elementary School has once again been named among the Best Elementary Schools in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report. Seaborn ranks within the top 40% of elementary schools statewide, earning the No. 88 spot on this year’s list.
This recognition from a trusted national source highlights Seaborn Elementary’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and a supportive, student-centered environment. The U.S. News rankings draw from publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, taking into account academic performance, state test results, student-teacher ratios and faculty experience.
Principal Mr. T.J. Koniowsky shared his pride in the school community saying, “Being recognized by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth time is something our entire Seaborn community can celebrate. The success we see each day comes from the teamwork between our students, staff and families. To be honored alongside our other recent achievements — including three straight five-star ratings from the Ohio Department of Education, our OAESA Hall of Fame distinction and our recognition as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School — shows how consistently our team strives for excellence. It’s a privilege to lead such a dedicated group of educators and students.”
This recognition further demonstrates Seaborn Elementary’s commitment to the district’s mission to pursue academic excellence for all students while fostering curiosity, growth and lifelong learning.
District Superintendent Mr. Damon Dohar praised the school’s continued success. “The staff and students at Seaborn continue to raise the bar year after year,” he said. “Their commitment to learning, collaboration and innovation is reflected in every recognition they earn. We’re extremely proud to see Seaborn once again listed among the best elementary schools in Ohio — it’s a well-deserved honor.”
This marks the fourth time Seaborn Elementary has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top-performing school, following previous honors in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
