Participants sought for Veterans Day parade
WARREN — The Tribune Chronicle is seeking participants for its annual Veterans Day parade on Nov. 11.
The parade will begin immediately after the 11 a.m. ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Warren, which is approximately at 12:15 p.m. The ceremony is being coordinated by the Trumbull County Veterans Service Commission.
Lineup will take place at Perkins Park. It will travel south on Mahoning Avenue, past a review stand set up at the log cabin near the Trumbull County Veterans’ Memorial and then east on Market Street through the downtown area, ending at Vine and High streets.
Participants are asked to complete a parade registration form, which can be picked up at the newspaper office, 240 Franklin St. SE, Warren, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They also can be obtained by calling community events coordinator and parade marshal Sue Shafer at 330-841-1696 or via email at sshafer@tribtoday.com. The deadline to register is Nov. 5.
Political candidates and current office holders may not distribute fliers, but they can have a sign with their name and the office they hold or are seeking. Candy is allowed to be thrown with caution for the safety of others.
Parade units must be decorated with a patriotic theme.
