VETERANS IN VIENNA: The Vienna Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Copper Penny Lodge, 4275 Warren Sharon Road, for a program on “Veterans in Vienna Township Cemeteries. ” Society president Christine Novicky will discuss veterans buried within the township’s cemetery borders. Seating is limited.

FOOD DRIVE: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is hosting a Thanksgiving food drive through Friday in partnership with Niles Community Services. The library is collecting nonperishable food in jars, boxes, packages and cans to benefit those in need. Make sure all donations are unopened and unexpired. Drop off donations at the library or Niles Community Services on Vienna Avenue.

LIBRARY ANIME: The Girard Free Library will offer an anime program at 5:30 p.m. today where teens can sample Asian snacks and watch an anime show.

TRICK OR TREAT: The Girard HIgh School National Honor Society and Girard HIgh School Band will present an annual trick or treat night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Arrowhead Stadium. There will be free treats and games for the children.

SIGNUPS: The Emmanuel Community Care Center in Girard is hosting Thanksgiving signups through Nov. 7. Families who are registered at the center and wish to receive assistance must call the center at 330-545-4301. Gift cards will be given to families instead of boxes of food. Families can pick up gift cards 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 26. Monetary donations or gift cards to Aldi, Giant Eagle and Walmart can be sent to Emmanuel Comingty Care Center, 2 N, State St., Girard, OH 44420.

LECTURE SET: The Newton Falls Library will present a lecture by Dr. Paul Lynn at 5 p.m. Thursday on Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) art and traditions. There will be a question-and-answer session,

ACTION PROGRAM: Triumbul Community Action Program, 611 Main Ave. SW, Warren, will offer its winter crisis program Nov. 1 to March 31, 2026, The program helps income eligible households avoid utility disconnections. FULLER TO SPEAK: The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will host Dr. Adam Fuller at noon Tuesday at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane.

Fuller will discuss his new book, “The Armed Jew: The Case for Jewish Gun Ownership, which explores the essential role of gun ownership in the Jewish experience, both historically and in contemporary society.

Following the presentation, Fuller will sign books, which will be available for purchase. Lunch will be served. The event is free, but registration is required by the end of day today. Contact Nancy at nsentelik@jewishyoungstown.org to register.

Fuller is an associate professor at Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences and Education at Youngstown State University, and has been designated as the William B. Clayman Professor in Judaic and Holocaust Studies.
