Seeing Eye: Pool Pawty planned for Saturday in Youngstown
POOL PAWTY: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown will host a Pool Pawty on Saturday at the Logan Campus, 3245 Logan Way, Liberty for dogs to swim in the large outdoor pool. Smaller dogs can splash in the pool from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and larger dogs from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All dogs must be up to date with their shots, No people are allowed in the pool. Cost is $5 per family or donation of an item to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County,
BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Girard Free Library will host a book sale and bake sale noon to 7 p.m., Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event is the Friends biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from the sale have been used for carpeting for the library’s community room. Cookies and bottled water will be available for sale.
CITYWIDE CLEANUP: Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and the Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will conduct a community wide cleanup 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Trash bags, vests and pickers will be provided, Volunteers will enjoy a lunch at noon at Grace ANE Church in Warren All ages are welcome, Volunteer hours available for students. FUNDRAISER: The Cortland Masonic Lodge will host a fundraiser 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the lodge,3263 Everett Hull Road, to benefit the Four Season Garden Club of Cortland. Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will benefit the club and its community efforts. The lodge holds charity events once or twice a month with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the local charity. The garden club uses the funds for various community projects such as flower barrels and flags on the bridge
FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION: The Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley will host the 13th annual Family Portrait Series from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fellows Riverside Gardens 123 McKinley Ave. Youngstown, Cost is $20 to reserve a spot Preregistration at AutismMV.org.
