Therapy dogs to sit for stories

READ TO CANINES: The Warren Trumbull County Public Library bookmobile will be at the Mosquito Lake State Park beach area 3 to 5:30 p.m. today with a special program 5 to 6 p.m. to read to a therapy dog. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a waiver must be signed by a legal guardian to participate. Participants should meet at the beach parking lot.

BRACEVILLE 5K RUN: The Braceville Community Foundation 5K Fun Run / Walk will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, starting at the Braceville township hall, 582 Braceville Robinson Road. Funds raised benefit the community foundation. Braceville Robinson Road will be closed between state Routes 5 and 82 from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday for the race. The detour is west on Route 5, north on state Route 534 and east on Route 82.

RIBBON CUTTING: Warren Township trustees will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening at 1 p.m. Friday for the new playground at the Johnson Community Center on Gillmer Road.

Trumbull County commissioners and township trustees will be among those taking part.

COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY: First Baptist Church, 2640 S. Canal St., Newton Falls, will host a community outreach giveaway 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The event is a reverse garage sale, where items will be given away, including household items and knick-knacks.

MISSION FUNDRAISER: Farmington Community Church, 240 College St., West Farmington, will sponsor a family mission fundraiser noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. The fundraiser will help send families on a mission to Albania. There will be food, bounce houses, music, a basket raffle, games, vendors and an outdoor movie.

CLASS REUNION: The Warren G. Harding Class of 1970 is celebrating its 55th class reunion. The event will be Sept. 5 and Sept. 6. For information, call Louie Antonelli at 330-240-9324.
