Volunteers needed to decorate graves

FLAG PLACEMENT ON GRAVES: Volunteers are needed to place flags on veterans’ grave markers at Pineview Cemetery on Youngstown Warren Road. Those who can help are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the shed in the northwest corner of the cemetery. Volunteers should dress appropriately as the ground may be saturated.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER: Third Christian Church, 241 First St. SW, Warren, is sponsoring a scholarship fundraiser for Trumbull County NAACP youth scholars. The event is a pasta dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday with dine in or takeout. Donation is $15 per person.

This year, the recipients of the scholar awards are Trinity Walker of Warren G. Harding, Bethany Boykin of Liberty High School, Nehemiah Hughes (Akron STEM) and Donovan McCoy of Warren G. Harding. The award banquet will be Sept. 20 at Enzo’s. For information, call 330-469-3247.

MAKERS MARKET: A fundraiser Spring Makers Market will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Newton Falls First Christian Church, 17 N. Center St., to benefit the church’s Community Blessing Nook.

Featured will be assorted handmade goods, jewelry, self-care products, treats and more. Also, lunch will be available along with a picture booth and raffles. A free gift will be given to the first 25 people.
