Seeing Eye: Drama club to present ‘Into the woods’
HOWLAND DRAMA CLUB: The Howland High School Drama Club will present the production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s acclaimed musical, “Into the Woods” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at Howland Middle School, 8100 South St. SE. “Into the Woods” blends the stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel, centering around a childless baker and his wife on a quest to lift a witch’s curse. As their tales intertwine, the characters venture into the woods, confronting their desires, fears and the unforeseen outcomes of their actions. SWING INTO SPRING: Champion Schools’ Senior Citizen Advisory Council will host the 12th annual dinner theater and awards banquet “Swing into Spring” 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 3 at Champion PK-8 School cafeteria. GENERATION CONVERSATION: Generations in Conversation will be 3 to 6 p.m,. Sunday at Lincoln PK-8 School, Atlantic Street NE, Warren. The event will bring women of all ages together for conversation. Host is Moriah Lyeon. There will be panel discussions. Call 330-553-1412,
HISTORICAL EVENT: Vienna Amvets Post 290, Youngstown Kingsville Road, will host a historical luncheon at noon April 6. Chrisitne Novcky will present topics related to Vienna’s history. For tickets, call 330-647-4276.
STORYTIME: Southington storytime will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chalker Building, west of the center. Children also will be able to meet with the Easter Bunny.
ROTARY HOSTS EASTER BUNNY: Champion Rotary Club will present the Easter Bunny with face painting and free baskets for children 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave., Champion. Cost for pancake breakfast is $8 for adults and under 6 free with adult purchase.
STEAM NIGHT: Girard City Schools will host a Family STEAM Night 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the high school for activities involving science, technology, engineering and math.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Camelot Center is nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding facility at 3498 Barclay Messerly Road, Southington. Volunteers ages 14 and older are needed to help with horse care, lesson help and cleanup.
