Fed survey addresses credit needs

The Federal Reserve Bank is seeking input for its online 2025 Small Business Credit Survey.

The questions are best answered by an owner or key financial decision maker of a for-profit business with fewer than 500 employees. The survey, which will take 10 to 12 minutes, is available at https://tinyurl.com/y5f6943h.

With changes in the small-business credit environment in recent years, Federal Reserve policymakers have an interest in understanding the impact of those changes on small businesses and their ability to obtain the credit they need to operate and grow. The survey helps to strengthen that understanding by asking the business owners themselves about their credit needs and experiences.

The sample survey is conducted in partnership with business and industry associations, local agencies and nonprofits. It takes place each year in the fall, and reports on the results are released beginning the following spring.

The questionnaire covers these key areas:

• Firm performance and challenges: Changes in revenue, number of employees, outlook for the business and financial challenges the business is experiencing.

• Financing needs and borrower experiences: Sources of financing, credit products utilized and experiences applying for and obtaining credit.

For more information about the survey, contact Hal Martin at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland at Hal.Martin@clev.frb.org.

The survey closes Nov. 14.

Starting at $3.23/week.
