McDonough will host live artist demonstration

A live artist demonstration with Julia Betts is scheduled 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Betts is an artist-in-residence at Akron Soul Train and is known for her innovative pour-process technique that transforms paint into sculptural form. Several area venues will host free screenings of films with Ohio ties in 2026 as part of Ohio Goes to the Movies. Mahoning Valley Comicon will be back with some familiar guests and a new location for its 2025 edition.
