Love is complicated in ACTS cabaret show
The cabaret-style show “Love… Actually, It’s Complicated” will be staged for three performances this weekend at ACTS Performing Arts Center’s 40 Below.
“Love…” tells the story of what happens after the meet-cute. It grew out of a desire to tell a fuller story of love than audiences often see on stage. Not just soaring ballads and picture-perfect moments, but driving rock songs, hilarious and intense breakup numbers and pieces that capture how being in love can be both wonderful and deeply frustrating.
In her directorial debut at ACTS, Sara Campbell brings together a cast of seven performers for an evening of solos, duets and ensemble numbers.
The cast includes Mike Allenbaugh, Roxanne Chapman, Krystal Miller, Miriam Necastro, Tom Perman, Thomas Morelli and Campbell.
It features music from such works as “Company,” “Hamilton,” “Shrek,” “Into the Woods,” “Kiss Me, Kate,” “Waitress,” “Legally Blonde,” “Chess,” “9 to 5,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Wicked” and other shows that treat love as complicated and human.
It will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at ACTS, 40 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon, Pa. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and are available online at www.actspac.org and by calling 724-815-4388.
