Local hauntings part of program

A program on “Hauntings of Trumbull County” is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s Cortland Branch, 578 Lakeview Drive.

Author Wendy Koile, whose books include “Lake Erie Murder & Mayhem” and “Disasters of Ohio’s Lake Erie Islands,” will recount tales of ghostly encounters, unsolved mysteries and local lore that refuse to stay buried.

Admission is free.

Silent horror classic screened

The 1922 silent film “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror” with live organ accompaniment will be shown at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.

Directed by German filmmaker F.W. Murnau, “Nosferatu” is an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” Playing the E.M. Skinner Pipe Organ will be Jay Spencer.

Seating is general admission. Tickets are $11, including fees, and are available at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, online at experienceyourarts.org and by calling 330-259-9651.

SMARTS preps for annual dinner

Tickets are on sale now for the annual SMARTS Family Dinner.

This year’s event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown.

It will include a spaghetti dinner and “Pass the Sauce, Share the Story,” a keynote presentation on how visual arts, music, dance, theater and creative writing connect generations.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and are available online at smartsartschool.org.
