Blues, Brews & BBQ coming
Shemeika Copeland will headline the inaugural Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival, presented by 7 17 Credit Union at the Warren Community Amphitheatre on Oct. 4.
Also performing will be “King” Solomon Hicks, Damian Knapp, Cleveland’s Backstreet Blues Band, Sacksville Rhythm & Blues Band, Jazz in the Park Allstars, Norman Nardini, Aaron McCoy and Friends, and Warren Community Gospel Choir.
The event will feature BBQ vendors from Northeast Ohio competing for top honors and a curated selection of drinks, including beers and bourbons.
Tickets are $10 and available online at www.717cu.com/blues and will be available starting Friday at all 7 17 branch locations, Sunrise Inn in Warren and Eastwood Mall in Niles.
Pickle Fest at Penguin City
Penguin City Brewing Company, 460 E. Federal St.,Youngstown, will host Youngstown Pickle Fest on Saturday.
The family-friendly and dog-friendly event will have pickle-themed foods, drinks, vendors, live music, contests and activities.
It runs from noon to 4 p.m., and admission is free.

Digitization workshop set
The Trumbull County Historical Society will offer a digitization workshop at 4 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Museum of Science Fiction and Fantasy Arts building, 410 Main Ave. SW, Warren.
TCHS collections staff will teach participants how to digitize their family photos and documents for preservation.
