Danza brings songs, stories to Robins Theatre

Tony Danza brings “Standards and Stories” to the Robins Theatre on Oct. 17.

Danza, best known for his roles in the long-running television series “Taxi” and “Who’s the Boss,” will be backed by a four-piece band for an evening of standards from the Great American Songbook and stories about his life and personal connection to the music.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $48 to $89, plus fees, and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday.

Christmas show announced for Stambaugh

“Christmas in the Air” comes to Stambaugh Auditorium on Dec. 5.

The production is described as “a snow globe come to life” with synchronized Rockette-style dancers, singers and actors as well as an appearance by Santa Claus and his elves. It mixes classic holiday songs with modern-day favorites.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at experienceyourarts.org and by calling 330-259-9651, and proceeds will benefit United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

Packard hosts Chris Young holiday tour

Country singer Chris Young, who has headlined shows at both the Covelli Centre and Canfield Fair, will bring his first-ever holiday tour to Packard Music Hall on Dec. 6.

“It Must Be Christmas — An Acoustic Evening with Chris Young” will feature songs from Young’s 2016 holiday album as well as his hits. Young also will release his 10th studio album, “I Didn’t Come Here to Leave,” on Oct. 17.

Young has had more than 20 top 40 country hits since 2008, including a dozen that topped Billboard’s country or country airplay charts.

Young made his first area appearance in 2011 at the Covelli Centre, opening for Miranda Lambert. He returned as a headliner the following year. He played the Canfield Fair in 2017.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster.
