Westminster announces 2025-26 Celebrity Series

Soul/R&B act The Commodores are the first of five attractions for Westminster College’s 2025-26 Celebrity Series.

Still led by founding member William King, The Commodores will perform Sept. 13. The group had more than 15 top 40 hits in its career, including “Slippery When Wet,” “Just to Be Close to You,” “Easy,” “Brick House,” “Three Times a Lady” and “Nightshift.”

The musical “One Night in Memphis” will be presented Oct. 11. The show imagines what happened the day a famous photo was taken at Sun Records when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins all were at the legendary recording studio.

Michael Cavanaugh, a Cleveland native who starred on Broadway in the Billy Joel musical “Movin’ Out” on Broadway, will bring his holiday show, “A Merry Rockin’ Christmas” to Westminster on Dec. 16.

Celebrating Three American Troubadours, a tribute to the music of James Taylor, Carly Simon and Carole King will be the first offering of 2026 on March 28

The season concludes April 25, 2026 with the Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute Commotion.

All performances start at 7:30 p.m. at the college’s Orr Auditorium, Westminster Drive, New Wilmington, Pa.

Season tickets good for admission to all five performances range $164 to $210 regular admission and $159 to $205 for senior citizens and are available online at www.westminster.edu/celebrity and by calling 724-946-7354. Single tickets for each performance will go on sale starting Wednesday.
