Packard concert features guest conductor, soloist
Guest conductor Frank Tracz is bringing one of his former students with him for the W.D. Packard Concert Band’s next performance. Tracz, an Ohio State University alum and a frequent guest conductor with the Packard band, is a professor of music and director of bands at Kansas State University. Joining Tracz on Sunday will be saxophone player Xan Perkins, who will be the featured soloist on Nat McIntosh’s “Brooklyn.” Perkins received his bachelor of arts degree in music performance at Kansas State, and he has been a regular guest soloist with the Manhattan Municipal Band, ...
