DEAR DR. ROACH: I have horrible neck, shoulder, back and hip pain, which are all from different traumas. I’ve been seeing a pain doctor for the past 14 years. I started out taking 5 mg of Vicodin and 4 mg of trazodone. Over the years, my prescriptions have been raised to 7.5 mg of oxycodone four times a day and 800 mg of ibuprofen three times a day. I see my doctor every two weeks, and during these visits, I normally get shots (different ones in different places). My problem is that my pain medicine isn’t working anymore. Men’s Rally in Valley set for May 23

YOUNGSTOWN — The 2026 Men's Rally in the Valley will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 23 at the Covelli Centre. The free event will include a concert with Grammy-winning Christian artist Michael W. Smith, as well as several guest speakers, including Bishop Timothy Clarke, Chris Holm, Billy Hartwig and Dave Kohout. St. Rose School hosts Police Appreciation Day

GIRARD — St. Rose Catholic School hosted its first-ever Police Appreciation Day on May 10 by welcoming local law enforcement agencies for a day of learning, connection and gratitude as the nation prepared to observe National Police Week. Principal Anthony Catale said students in grades PreK–8 explored police cruisers, interacted with officers, and learned about the tools and responsibilities involved in keeping communities safe.
