FIRST FRIDAY: The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown speaker series season will host a luncheon Sept. 4 with guest speaker Dr. James Kravec, Chief Clinical Officer at Mercy Health. Kravec will present “Catholic Healthcare and Ethical and Religious Directives” at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. A Youngstown native, Kravec has received multiple alumni and health care leadership awards. He lives in Canfield with his wife, Dr. Cynthia Kravec, and their four children.

WOMEN’S DAY: Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries Church of God in Christ, 789 Hoyt St. SW, Warren, will host the annual Women’s Day celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday. The theme is “Holy Women Laboring in Unfinished Business.” Guest speaker is Sharon Blevins, Ohio North 1st Jurisdictional Supervisor.
FEAST DAY: Polish Youngstown and St. Columba Cathedral will honor the Feast Day of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Eastern Europe’s most beloved Marian icon, with a special Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Columba, 154 W. Wood St. The Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin will serve as celebrant and other Slavic priests from the Youngstown Diocese have been invited. The Mass will include traditional Polish hymns and a community rendition of “Czarna Madonna.”
102ND ANNIVERSARY: First Baptist Church of Braceville, 1300 Cedar St., will host its 102nd anniversary service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker is Curtis Minter of Shiloh Baptist Church in Akron.
PETTIS TO BE HONORED: Mount Zion Baptist Church of Youngstown, 827 Wilson Ave., will host a musical celebration at 7 p.m. Friday in honor of Pastor Jack Pettis’ 35th pastoral anniversary. There also will be a special morning worship service at 11 a.m. Aug. 31 at Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 405 Depot St. in Niles, officiated by Pastor Larry Scott. The final event to honor Pettis will be an anniversary banquet at 5 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles. This is a ticketed event and the guest speaker will be Rev. WOMEN’S MINISTRY: The Heart to Heart Women’s Ministry at Hubbard Church of the Nazarene invites women of all ages to the “Clean Hands, Pure Heart” program 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13. Rebecca Gentzler will be the guest speaker with the Rev. Rob McFarland leading the worship music. The cost is $15 (due Sept. 7) and includes any materials, light refreshments, lunch, door prizes and gifts. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals for the parish choir at Christ Church on Atlantic Street in Warren will resume at 7 p.m. Thursday in the choir room. The choir is open to all adults and high school students (grades 9 and above), and the parish is actively seeking new members to join this musical ministry. DELIVERANCE: GodSaidit Productions, Inc., under the direction of renowned playwright and founder Sherry A. Franklin-Berry, will present the stage production, “Deliverance Is Available to Me.” The live performance will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 and 30 at Rebirth Global Ministries International, 474 Early Road, Youngstown.
