• Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World helps participants investigate the causes of poverty, build personal and community resources, and create their own plan to get ahead — not just survive. Meals and incentives are included. Classes will be from noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays beginning Aug. 21. Preregistration and application is required.
• Mental Health First Aid equips everyday people to recognize, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance-use challenges. Whether a parent, educator, community member, or employer, this program provides the tools to help someone in need with confidence and compassion.
• Bridges Out of Poverty is a powerful workshop that helps community leaders, educators, businesses and service providers better understand the challenges faced by people in poverty — and how to build bridges toward mutual success. One-hour overviews are available as well as three- and six-hour workshops.
• WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) is designed to support individuals 55 and up. This program teaches individuals how to make the best of their mature years by understanding wellness tactics. Facilitators include retired teachers, leaders and nurses.
