Schools and agencies throughout Trumbull County are closed or will close early today because of a predictions that a winter storm will roll in this afternoon. Parking bans also have been issued. That National Weather Service reports that a winter storm warning is in effect from noon today until 10 a.m. Saturday. Listings will be updated as more closings are reported. Thu. 4:35 p.m.: Water may be in parts of Niles tonight

NILES -- Water service might be temporarily interrupted starting at 11 p.m. today in the Robbins Avenue and McKinley Heights area as crews work to repair a leaking water line, the city reported. Service Director Ed Stredney said an 8-inch water line that probably services several hundred homes is leaking and the decision to work on the line at 11 p.m. rather than during the day was made to cause as little inconvenience to residents as possible should water need to be shut off during the repair, he said. Stredney said he expects the work to be done by 4 a.m. Friday.

Wed. 2:30 p.m.: Garrison Keillor fired, says he put hand on woman’s back

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Garrison Keillor, the former host of "A Prairie Home Companion," said Wednesday he has been fired by Minnesota Public Radio over allegations of what the network called improper behavior. Keillor told The Associated Press of his firing in an email. In a follow-up statement, he said he was fired over "a story that I think is more interesting and more complicated than the version MPR heard." Wed. 10:20 a.m.: Jury declines death penalty for Hamad

WARREN - A jury recommended Nasser Hamad be sentenced to life in prison with a chance at being paroled in 30 years. Hamad, 48, was convicted of killing two people and wounding three others during a Feb. 25 shooting outside his home on state Route 46 in Howland. Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald Rice will impose a sentence 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The same jury that convicted the Howland man last week started its second day in deliberations before 9 a.m. today.

Tues, 2 p.m.: Jury continues deliberations on Hamad’s fate

WARREN - The jury in the trial of Nasser Hamad - the Howland man convicted of killing two people and wounding three others - have continued deliberating through the lunch break this afternoon. The jury, which began their talks shortly after 10 a.m. today, could recommend life imprisonment, with or without the opportunity of parole, or the death penalty. Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J.
