WEATHERSFIELD — Homes and business within a mile radius of Predator Trucking Co. outside of Girard are being evacuated this morning after an apparent chemical release. Weathersfield Township Fire Department, the Girard Police Department and HazMat units have been dispatched to the company, 1775 N. State St., and to homes and businesses surrounding it. UPDATE: WEATHERSFIELD — Emergency responders say that hydrochloric acid spilled from a truck at Predator Trucking Co. this morning, causing the evacuation of a one-mile radius. Not only are homes and businesses being evacuated, but emergency crews say that planes and helicopters are being instructed to stay clear of the area. LORDSTOWN --- In the latest play in the TJX drama, officials said this morning that a conservancy will be created through the Trumbull County MetroParks or the Western Reserve Land Conservancy as a buffer zone so that no residents will have to live next to a factory. WEATHERSFIELD — Emergency officials reported that the hydrochloric acid spill outside of Girard has been cleaned up and contained. People who were evacuated now are being allowed to return to their homes and businesses.
