David W. Bowser 1942-2026

NEWTON FALLS — David William Bowser, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at Country Club Rehab of Newton Falls. He was born May 20, 1942, in Tarentum, Pa., a son of Alvie W. and Irene Wise Bowser. He was employed as an industrial arts teacher and later a principal in the Newton Falls and LaBrae school districts. He was of the Methodist faith. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. with a Masonic service at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and again 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service Thursday at the James Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Hawley Cemetery.

Shelley Fabares, an actor who was a fixture on television for decades from her days as a young teenager on “The Donna Reed Show,” through “One Day at a Time” and “Coach,” has died. She was 82.
