First Wednesday reading to feature three writers

A trio of writers will be featured at Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Reader Series event. Poets Becca J.R. Lachman of Athens and Renee Nicholson of Morgantown, West Virginia, and fiction writer and essayist Rebecca Moon Ruark of Galesville, Maryland, will read from their work. Lachman, poet laureate of Athens, serves as the communications director for the Athens County Public Libraries and earned her master’s degree from Bennington College. Packard concert features guest conductor, soloist

Guest conductor Frank Tracz is bringing one of his former students with him for the W.D. Packard Concert Band’s next performance. Tracz, an Ohio State University alum and a frequent guest conductor with the Packard band, is a professor of music and director of bands at Kansas State University. Parmalee coming to Robins Theatre in November

Country act Parmalee will play the Robins Theatre on Nov. 14. The band’s songs have been streamed more than 1.6 billion times worldwide, and its country hits include “Cowgirl,” “Take My Name,” “Girl in Mine,” “Just the Way” and “Gonna Love You.” Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Etix.
