Engine needs repair before driving ’01 Wrangler again

Dear Doctor: I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L engine with the manual transmission that is in need of some repairs: The engine's first cylinder is only producing 20 pounds-per-square-inch compression due to a burned or bent exhaust valve. I was advised to disconnect the fuel injector in order to prevent fuel from leaking through into the exhaust and ruining the catalytic converter.
