JOHNSTON -- A semi trailer caught fire on state Route 11 in Johnston Township this morning, but the driver of the semi was able to disconnect the tractor from the trailer and move it away before the trailer became fully engulfed in flames, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports.
The fire was reported at 4:22 a.m. The tractor trailer was northbound on Route 11 when the driver noticed an issue with the trailer. He pulled the semi and trailer off to the side of the road and saw that the trailer was on fire, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Southington Post.
The driver, Marcellus James, 53, of Starke, Fla., detached the two units. The trailer contained no hazardous materials, the release states.
