BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Youngstown State maintained its perfect record, though not without some scares along the way.
Chelsea Olson poured in a career-high 28 points as the Penguins knocked off Canisius on the road Wednesday night, 69-66.
Olson went 12-of-16 from the field, which made up nearly half of YSU's 26 field goals. The Penguins (8-0) also picked up a double-digit night from Jen Wendler, who scored 10 and grabbed four rebounds.
Paige Shy added five points and seven boards, while Lindsey Linard scored four points and grabbed seven boards.
YSU led 33-25 at halftime and trailed for only 1:06 during the game, but Canisius (2-6) hung around. The Penguins led by as much as 14 early in the fourth quarter before the Golden Griffins stormed back into the mix. However, Canisius never got back within a single possession until Dani Haskell's 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Haskell scored 14 for Canisius, while Erika Joseph had 16.
YSU continues its road trip Sunday at Penn State.
