MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The return of junior guard Darius Quisenberry provided the lift Youngs-town State needed as the Penguins defeated Robert Morris, 84-78 in overtime on Friday night.
The Penguins (9-10, 5-10 Horizon League) have lost a handful of close games decided in the final minutes. Quisenberry's experience and ability to create his own shot has been missing since he went out with an ankle injury in December.
Michael Akuchie hit a 3-pointer with 1:57 left in overtime to break a 74-74 tie and the Penguins made seven of their last eight free-throw attempts.
Quisenberry led the Penguins with 20 points while Naz Bohannon had 18 points and seven rebounds. Akuchie scored 13 points and Garrett Covington added 10. All of Akuchie's and Covington's points came in the second half and overtime.
YSU made 21-of-26 free throw attempts for the game and 10-of-12 in overtime.
Leading the Colonials (3-10, 2-8) was AJ Bramah with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Kahliel Spear had 17 points, and Jon Williams and Enoch Cheeks each had 12.
