By Greg Gulas 5 min read

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 15-bout, all-amateur fight card is set for tonight at St. Mary's Byzantine Hall in Youngstown.

Presented by Lights Out Management and in conjunction with Golden String Boxing, their Fight Night in the YO No. 8 show will feature 11 boxers representing four area gyms on the card.

The main event will pit Alan Williams of Shenango, Pa.'s, Royal Lions Boxing Club as he goes up against Jesse Urbina of Toledo (Warriors Boxing Club) in a 143-pound pairing, while the co-main features Youngstown's Isaac Johnson (Golden String Boxing Club) taking on Sule Lunde of Maple Heights (Team DNA Boxing) in a 154-pound pairing.

Williams, a veteran of 30 fights, and Urbina, who has 100 ring appearances under his belt, are both nationally ranked in their weight class. Johnson and Lunde are looking for the national exposure their fight will afford the winner.

"This is an amazing card, 15 solid matches that feature top-notch amateur talent from the opening fight to the main event," Golden String's trainer-promoter Tom Cordell said. "Our main event will showcase two outstanding fighters with a ton of experience as Jesse Urbina takes on Alan Williams, both of whom are Golden Glove winners in their respective regions.

"Isaac Johnson is one of four fighters from our Golden String club, and expect him to go toe to toe with Sule Lunde in the co-main event. Both fighters are chomping at the bit to get into the ring, each looking for the national exposure that they deserve."

In addition to Golden String Boxing, which Cordell and trainer Sammy Calderon call home base for their fighters, other area gyms represented include former middleweight champion of the world Kelly Pavlik's Ghost Boxing Club, Keith Burnside's Burnside Boxing Club in Struthers, Warren's MVP Boxing Club and Royal Lions B.C. in Shenango.

Three other boxers will join Johnson from Golden String, including John Davis (142 pounds), Dwayne Eley (165 pounds) and Colton Hall (132 pounds). Ghost B.C. will additionally feature Diamond Chisholm (140 pounds), Levi Collins (65 pounds) and Carly Calderone (132 pounds). The two boxers from MVP B.C. include Tyler Hall and Milez Jones, both 132 pound hopefuls, while Burnside's boxer is Correy Williams, an up and comer at 140 pounds.

Calderone meets Alysa Long of Jefferson Township in a 132-pound scrap and the lone female bout on the card.

Boxers hailing from Bedford Heights, Cincinnati, Jefferson Township, Lorain, Maple Heights, Toledo and Milton, W.Va., are also set.

Davis highlights other Golden String hopefuls when he takes on Antwain Sanders of Toledo, Eley goes up against Moussa Ndiaye of Bedford Heights and Colton Hall goes up against Jones of Warren's MVP Boxing Club.

Tyler Hall will join Jones from MVP B.C. when he entertains Toledo's Terrence Freeman with Burnside's Williams training extra hard for his fight with Juan Porras Jr. of Jefferson Township's Future Boxing Club.

Chisholm and Collins will join Calderone from Ghost B.C., with the former taking on Angel Torres of Lorain and the latter going up against Eian Dyson of Cincinnati, in the night's sole 65-pound pairing.

"Area gyms are well-represented, some of the top amateurs from in and around the state will be featured while the night promises to be action packed," Lights Out Management's Mike Cefalde Sr. said. "This is our second show this year at St. Mary's Byzantine Hall, and we cannot thank Father John Joseph Welch enough for his help in making this happen."

General Admission is $20, $40 for VIP chairs with tables of eight available for $400.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and weight-ins begin at 5 p.m. The first fight is set for 7 p.m.
