The Mahoning Valley Scrappers dropped their fourth straight game on Saturday, falling to West Virginia 5-4, as the Black Bears completed a three-game series sweep.

The Scrappers led 4-3 through seven innings, but the Black Bears scored the go-ahead runs on a two-run ground-rule double by Cayden Gaskin in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Cayden Evans led the Scrappers with three hits and an RBI, while Maddox Mihalakis had two hits and two RBIs.

Nick Anello took the loss on the mound for the Scrappers.

The Scrappers return to Eastwood Field to face Aberdeen on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for their first homestand of the second half of the season.
