SOFTBALL

Lakeview 5, Poland 4 – A four-run fifth inning from Lakeview erased a 4-1 deficit. The Bulldogs were led by Annaliese DeJulio who had a two RBI single in the fifth inning. Rylee Barnot and Paige Schwartz also drove in runs during the rally. Isabella Isenberg had another strong start with 12 strikeouts in a complete game outing. For Poland, Cassie Blanch led the offense with two hits and an RBI. Sydney Bulick and Ali Blinsky had a hit and an RBI each and Leanna Boccieri had two hits for Poland.

LaBrae 5, Crestview 2 – Riley Rowe struck out 13 for LaBrae, allowing just two hits and two runs in seven innings. At the plate, Rowe doubled and hit a home run. Madison Johnson doubled and drove in a run and Shelby Bragg and Mariah Jones combined for four hits. Makayla McKee had nine strikeouts for Crestview.

Howland 6, Canfield 5 – Makenna Perry hammered a home run and added two more hits for Howland, who won on a walk off hit in the bottom of the 7th inning. Perry also pitched a complete game, striking out seven for the Tigers. Madison Schmitz added two hits and an RBI and Olivia Lambert and Calleigh Luman had a hit and an RBI each. Brooke O’Palick drove in two runs with a hit for Canfield. Caylee Ortiz and Leah Figueroa added a hit and an RBI each for the Cardinals.

Cardinal Mooney 14, Warren JFK 0 – Lexi McKinstry homered and drove in four runs for Mooney. McKinstry and Justice Paris combined to strike out 12 and allow no hits, with Paris fanning seven for the Cardinals. Audrina Jablonski added two hits, including a double and drove in three runs.

South Range 10, Hubbard 0 – S. Brogan hit a double and a home run, driving in five runs for South Range. S. DeJesus added two hits and an RBI and A. Wardle had a hit and an RBI for the Raiders, who got at least one hit from 10 different players. A. Rupert got the start in the circle and struck out seven for South Range.

Niles 6, Struthers 5 – Addison Martin had a hit and drove in two runs for Niles. Aerie Jones struck out nine as the starting pitcher and Lydiah Taylor had a hit and an RBI for the Dragons.

Garrettsville Garfield 10, Brookfield 7, 8 innings – Olivia Bailey had 14 strikeouts in eight innings and drove in two runs with two hits for Garfield. The G-Men scored three in the top of the eights to secure the win. Bella Wright added a pair of hits and drove in three runs and Emily Knerem doubled twice and drove in a run. Luciana Kolat and Cassi Samios combined for four hits and three RBIs for Brookfield, with Kolat driving in two. Elaina Boyce added a hit and an RBI for the Warriors.

Maplewood 12, Fairport 0 – Addison Marker struck out 13 and allowed just one hit in five innings for Maplewood. Marker added three hits and an RBI, including a pair of doubles at the plate. Claire Urchek added a pair of hits and drove in three runs for the Rockets and Kya Dunbar had two hits and an RBI. Aleesia Woomer drove in two runs with a hit for the Rockets.

Badger 11, Bristol 1 – No stats were provided.

Mathews 12, Windham 9 – Rilee Paddock hit four RBIs for the Mustangs in a league win for Mathews over Windham. Paddock and Alivia Tarr each recorded three hits. Tarr had a double and a triple with three RBIs and crossed home plate four times, while Paddock had a pair of doubles and scored twice. Elle Egui recorded two hits, one of which was a double, and two RBIs. The game was Mustang coach Jim Nicula’s 300th win.

BASEBALL

LaBrae 7, Crestview 0 – Logan Brunstetter was dominant on the mound for LaBrae, striking out 18 while allowing just one hit in seven innings. Brunstetter added a triple on offense. Austin Rowe had a pair of hits and RBIs for the Vikings and Lucas Glaser drove in three runs with two hits.

Lakeview 10, Girard 4 – Brandon Toot and Hayden Newton had two hits and three RBIs each for Lakeview, with Toot doubling twice and Newton hitting a home run. Eli Gough added three hits and a pair of RBIs and Jacob Shaker had two hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs. Pierson Ginocchi hit a home run for Girard and struck out six as the Indians starter at pitcher. Kaiden Clare added a hit and an RBI for Girard.

Cardinal Mooney 13, Warren JFK 2 – Johnny Brenner drove in three runs on three hits for Mooney, with one being a double. Vince Gentile and Ben Oddis had two hits and two RBIs each for the Cardinals and Taco Verocco belted a home run. Luke Kollar drove in two runs and Andrew Bushey and Kaden Reese had a hit and an RBI each for the Cardinals. Dylan Sforza and Andrew LaPolla had a hit and an RBI each for JFK.

Bristol 6, Badger 5 – Bristol’s trio of Kaden Garcia, Ethan Kimak and Lavern Miller had a hit and an RBI each. Miller also had five strikeouts. Grant Roach and Wyatt Clisby added two hits each for the Panthers. Lewis Flowers led Badger with three hits and two RBIs.

St. Edward 6, Ursuline 5 – Brandon Florjanic had a hit and drove in two runs to lead St. Ed’s. L. Faup added a hit and an RBI for the Eagles. Rowan Urbach doubled and smashed a home run for Ursuline, driving in four runs. Gian Luca Aurilio added a hit and an RBI for the Irish and Jack Gocala had five strikeouts.

Garrettsville Garfield 10, Brookfield 8 – B. Pesicek and L.Workman combined for six hits and three RBIs, with Pesicek driving in two runs for Garfield. B. Bogucki and N. Bacskowski added two hits and two RBIs each. Devin Reardon led Brookfield with two hits and two RBIs. Blake Hammond added a pair of hits and drove in a run and Joe Hook drove in three runs with a hit for the Warriors.

Poland 16, Struthers 2 – Grady Pitzulo doubled twice and had three hits overall, driving in three runs for Poland. Joe Zuccaro added two hits and two RBIs and Zach Marantis drove in two runs with a hit. The Bulldogs duo of Jonathan Aikens and Tyler Bertilacci had a hit and an RBI each. Michael Snavicky had two hits for Struthers.
