SOFTBALL
Lakeview 10, Langley 2 — Lakeview scored three first inning runs, but broke the game open with a six-run second inning. Riley Barnot, Mackenzie Stowe, Isabella Isenberg and Annaliese DeJulio had two hits each for the Bulldogs. Stowe drove in three runs, while Isenberg, Paige Schwartz and Ava Nolan had two RBIs each for Lakeview. Jianna Shaker pitched a complete game, striking out nine for Lakeview.
Kaneland 8, Lakeview 6 — Rylee Barnot had two hits and an RBI to lead Lakeview in out-of-town action in Myrtle Beach. Annaliese DeJulio also had two hits for the Bulldogs, who jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead. Ella Collins had a hit and two RBIs for Lakeview, and Isabella Isenberg had a hit and an RBI. Isenberg also had seven strikeouts in a complete game as the starting pitcher.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Howland 3, Akron Hoban 2 — Howland (6-3) won the fifth match 15-11 to secure the victory over a tough Hoban squad. Wesley Fee led the Tigers with 28 digs and 11 kills. Carter Jones added 10 kills, while Nick Caesar and Freddie Rivera had 11 and 10 service points, respectively. Rivera also had five aces and 17 digs. Evan Neely assisted 22 times for the Tigers.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Cardinal Mooney 8, Boardman 7 — The Cardinals needed extra time, but they beat the Spartans. Molly Simon scored the game-winner in overtime. Sophia Rotunno led the way with two goals and five draw controls. Arianna Stamp followed with two goals of her own and three forced turnovers. Leah Hudak had a goal and two assists, while Brooke Campbell added a goal and an assist. Lainey Hunt scored to tying goal to force overtime. Ava Weeks made five saves for the Cardinals. Boardman stats were not reported by print deadline.
